Outréwear

I was recently burgled. I put my navy blue pea coat in a pile of other navy blue pea coats in the corner of the club, and it was gone at the end of the night. This was probably my most favorite coat of all coats I have ever owned. (A close runner up would be the tiny, '80s, white, perfect-condition OP ski jacket I thrifted in 2004, also stolen--what?). Anyway, I liked the pea coat because it fit snugly in the shoulders and had a high collar that buttoned all the way up and then turned down, and it had high slant pockets up front. Let me see if I can find a photo.  Ah, here we are Halloween 2008 (please note the high button up collar and the fake bloody nose).
H&M Wool Pea Coat RIP 2008-2010
I miss it. But the tragedy did have a silver lining because I was able to shop around for other coats without feeling like a glutton. These were some that I liked.

1. I. Spiekwak & Sons McElroy Parka

2. All Saints Trucker Cardigan

3. Dolce Vita Grayson Coat

Because I'm all about warmth, you know number one had to be the one. It was a therapeutic experience to mourn the loss of a beloved as I pursued new options. And now, I'm so over pea coats.
