Today when I woke up the sun was pouring through my window and I decided to don my spring coat! Vintage beige trench with wooden buttons and sans belt (thanks, Kellie!). Might have been a tiny bit of a mistake since I shivered a) going to the bus to work b) going to lunch c) going to the bus after work. But it still makes me excited! You know what else smells like spring? Bubble gum pink nail polish and anklets! Hear me out, ok?
The thing about bright pink nail polish is getting the color juuuust right. Too light and it's not noticeable enough, too dark and it's Miss America. You want it just shy of annoying. I recently bought a shade called "sweet tart"; right. And then, the other thing is, only wear it for a few days. This will not look good chipped (unlike almost any other color; my own opinion, of course).
I think anklets might be a harder sell. But I'm going to try! I saw this girl walking down the stairs in the bus tunnel and was totally mesmerized by her lower style. Thin-cuffed, wrinkly, dark jeans; black loafers; no socks; and a sweet gold anklet! Preppy, early '90s, and a certain, je ne sais quoi. Oooh! It was so perfect, and I envied it immediately. So I knew it was blog-worthy.
